This is not the only way but this is my way… You DO NOT NEED ALL THESE PRODUCTS!!!!! i can not stress this enough lol. I personally just love all the moisture these products give me so i do use all of them. If you have any questions please let me know and subscribe to my channel and like the vids. Thanks !!!
ok lately I have had a lot of people ask me about how I get my hair so curly. So I am about to lay out the facts and the myths for all you nonbelievers.
1. TRAINING YOUR HAIR TO CURL DOES NOT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT. Nor does it happen within a month span if you press your hair ALL THE TIME it will take a while before your curls and your hair comes back to its natural curl state. Be patient it is worth it in the end trust me.( FIRST PICTURE CLEARLY NO HANG TIME IN 2010)LOL
2. PRODUCT WORKS. Despite what you may have heard. if your hair does not naturally curl (meaning that mixed Asian type Hawaiian curly hair EX. KASSIE THE SINGER) then you need product and almost everybody I know uses at least 3 different products or more. It may take a while before you find the right product but be patient there is a product for every type of hair out there. I will list the products that works for my regime below. I use the cheap but efficient ones (I am just being real its a recession out here and going natural costs money) lol. Most of the products I use are oils and conditioners from the SHEA MOISTURE line. I know it may seem like lots of products that I am going to list but my hair gets really dry so I HAVE to keep it moisturized with LOTS OF CONDITIONERS. Also, all the products are ALL NATURAL Also ECO STYLER GEL IS AMAZING LOL BTW.
SHEA MOISTURE RAW SHEA BUTTER RESTORATIVE CONDITIONER(STAPLE PRODUCT)
TRADER JOE’S TEA TREE TINGLE CONDITIONER
3. DIFFUSE DIFFUSE DIFFUSE DIFFUSE!!! LOL Sorry but I can not emphasize this enough if you want big curly hair you have to diffuse. I am sure if you see big curly hair they have diffused it. I will post a video below to show the process and how to diffuse. Also, you do not need to buy a new dryer, go to your local beauty supply store and they should have universal diffusers for literally no more than 7 bucks. (CHEAP I KNOW) LOL
DISCLAIMER!!!!MY HAIR IS THICK AND GETS NAPPY WHEN WASHED SO I HAVE ABOUT 8 SECTIONS AND APPLY ALL PRODUCTS AND ONCE IN EACH SECTION. BUT THATS BASICALLY MY SYSTEM AS WELL.
4. Any type of hair can be trained!!!! I am LIVING hope my hair refused to grow for years after I took my weave out in 2007 and when I went off to college i would press it all the time because I was too scared to grow it out and go natural because it was short and not too curly just wavy but damaged smh. Then, in 2010 I graduated and got the courage to finally grow it out and 2 years later I have new growth and my “s” shape with my curls =). I will show before and after pics just so you can see. BUT PLEASE DON’T GET DISCOURAGED BECAUSE OF THE TEXTURE OF YOUR HAIR OR WHAT PEOPLE MIGHT SAY IN THE BEGINNING WHEN YOU FIRST START GOING NATURAL; Because you will look crazy at first. lol
5. TRIM!!!! Now I already know black women don’t like to cut that little bit of hair that just grown trust me I was against it for years. But I GIVE YOU MY WORD IT HELPS!!!!!!Ever since I started getting my hair trimmed about every other month it helps for the new growth. I wear it natural all the time then flat iron it myself and get it trimmed then go right back natural after a week of it being flat ironed. lol
6. DEEP CONDITION. I almost forgot the most important thing to do lol. Find a really good deep conditioner. I am currently searching for one that I really like but for now I use the Shea Moisture I might use the Nubian Heritage Masque though. But please deep condition at least 4 times a month to repair your hair faster. UPDATE!!!!!I USE COCONUT OIL and GRAPESEED OIL this crap is GODSENT…. it makes my hair EXTREMELY SOFT LIKE unbelievably soft.. its suppose to be really good for hair growth too!!!!
7. DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED!!! In the beginning stages you will look crazy but trust me stick to your regime and you will see results. =D
Also I have to add dying hair will not make you go bald. I have dyed my hair to a complete blonde and it still grew. You just really have to deep condition a lot and take extra care of it. =D
